MXR M290 Phase 95 mini Pedal
Picked up a second hand MXR M290 Phase 95 pedal. I was looking for a small footprint stombox to sit on my pedal board. I used to have a Bose vintage BF-2 Flanger but got rid of it because it took up too much space and I just didn't use if very much (probably cause I just didn't spend enough time playing with the knobs to get a couple/three useful settings...just too many variables and too little time.)
A phaser is great on a funk/reggae type song where you want to beef up the tone of the guitar and accent the grooves.
The M290 Combines MXR’s most iconic phase circuits in a single mini housing about half the footprint of a standard MXR pedal. The 45/90 switch toggles between the Phase 45 and Phase 90 circuits and there'a a Script button that removes feedback for a subtler vintage sound.
There's also a Slow/Fast Attack button which switches between slow and fast preset attack speeds. In Slow attack mode, output from the MXR seems to bloom a little bit more. The Fast mode is much more in your face and the output is hotter. There’s also a touch more sustain at the highest sensitivity levels. Note, the sustain is excellent in both modes.
