How to Publish Your Cubase Project to YouTube
Nothing more satisfying than getting your Cubase Project finished and uploading to your youTube channel so that you can share your chef d'oeuvres with friends and family.
Here are the steps you need to follow to publish one of your songs to the youTube platform:>
Here's what you need to do:
- Create a new project in Cubase using a Standard Project. (What I call) A Standard Project in Cubase is a project that you have previously created which contains default tracks and channel strip settings. Creating a new project from a Standard Project will save you loads of initial project set up time. To create a Standard Project in Cubase check out this link.
- Once you have created a new project, you are now ready to record your tracks. (Tips on how to record your tracks link here) Remember to save often and version your copies so that you can go back to a previous version. You may also want to start a notepad file so that you can keep notes on each saved version, what you've accomplished, what's left to do, settings you have tried or want to try. Anything you might find useful when you're working on your project or when you come back later on (at some point in time) to review your settings and perhaps the decision and directions you took along the way.
- Once you are satisfied with your recordings, create an Audio Mix file. ** test/validate this out In Cubase Export an Audio Mix file, usually ends up in wav format.
- Convert the wav file to an mp3 file format. (URLs or local app) --> mp3 takes up a lot less space
- Create video content. There are a number of good resources on youTube that go into details on how to create a respectable music video. (A couple good tutorilas can be found here.) I usually film full lenght videos of each intrument, some with different angles. I then splice them together to create my final music video. Use the mp3 as the video audio portion.
- Crete a video using a video editor app. I Use Windows Movie Maker to create the video and I include the mp3 file that I created in a previous step as the audio component to the video. Export the finished video to an mp4 file.
- Upload the mp4 file to youTube channel. Make sure to add a description of the composition and a copyright blurp.
- You are done!
